The fine print, minus the tricks

Rental terms

The key terms of every WheelsWorth Rentals hire in plain English. The signed rental agreement at pickup contains the complete terms — these summaries are designed to match it, not contradict it.

Pre-launch note: this document is the working template for legal review. Before trading, it must be reviewed by an Australian commercial lawyer against the Australian Consumer Law (including unfair contract terms) — see the go-live checklist in the business knowledge base.

1. Who can rent

Drivers must be 21 or older with a current full licence (Australian, or an overseas licence with an International Driving Permit or English translation where the licence isn't in English), valid for the whole hire. A per-day surcharge applies for drivers aged 21–24. Only drivers named on the agreement may drive the vehicle.

2. Pricing and payment

The total shown at booking is the complete price for your hire, including GST and any extras you selected. Payment is taken at pickup. Charges that can arise after the hire are only those disclosed on the pricing page (extra kilometres, fuel, tolls and infringements with an admin fee, excessive cleaning, late return) — always itemised with evidence.

3. Bond

A refundable bond (shown on your quote) is pre-authorised on the main driver's card at pickup. It is released after the return inspection, typically within 3 business days. Any claim against the bond is itemised in writing first, with photos, and you have a genuine opportunity to dispute it before it is processed.

4. Kilometres and fuel

Your hire includes the kilometre allowance shown on the quote (pooled across the whole hire). Extra kilometres are charged at the disclosed per-km rate. Vehicles leave with a full tank and should come back full; otherwise refuelling is charged at cost plus a reasonable service margin, disclosed at pickup.

5. Tolls, fines and infringements

Tolls incurred during your hire are passed through at cost plus a $16.50 administration fee per notice. Traffic and parking infringements are nominated to the driver as required by law, with the same admin fee. We keep possession records and signed agreements as evidence.

6. Condition, damage and disputes

We photo-document the vehicle together at pickup and again at return — both records are linked to your booking. You're responsible for new damage during the hire up to the liability amount in your agreement, subject to exclusions explained at pickup. Any damage claim comes with an itemised estimate and the inspection evidence, and our dispute process is always available.

7. Cancellation and changes

Cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before pickup, self-serve from Manage Booking. Inside 48 hours, a fee of up to one day's rental may apply. Extensions are subject to availability and confirmed with an updated itemised total before anything changes.

8. GPS and telematics

Our vehicles carry GPS telematics devices. What is collected, why, who can access it and for how long is set out in the privacy & GPS notice. Tracking is never secret and access is audit-logged.

9. Use of the vehicle

The vehicle must be used lawfully and sensibly: no racing, towing without written approval, smoking, or driving on unsealed roads unless agreed. It must not leave Victoria without prior approval. Breaching these conditions can affect your liability under the agreement.

10. Breakdowns and incidents

All hires include roadside assistance — the number is on your key tag and agreement. In an accident: make everyone safe, call 000 if needed, then call us. Don't admit fault; collect the other party's details and photos where safe.

Questions about any term? Call 03 9000 0000— we'd rather explain it before you book than argue about it after.
